Jewelry design and craftsmanship - a lifelong passion and interest.
Exploring the body, changing psychological well-being, everyday expression and searching for myself through fashion has been an integral part of my daily routines and my personal search for identity throughout my life. I see my own body as a constantly changing canvas of opportunities for deeper reflection, personal transformation and freedom of expression. Where the central denominator that drives me is positive feelings about seeing myself and people around me grow and transform into better versions of themselves, through fashion and the adornment of the body.
Fashion and design for me means politics, but not as we might traditionally think of politics, but as a right to freedom of expression in our everyday lives, through the choices we make. Expressions that we wear on our bodies to communicate who we are and what constitutes our identity outwardly are reinforced through bejeweling. Through jewelry design, my hope for the future is that I can help make the world a place where enabling different expressions potentially creates a place where we can all feel at home, in our bodies, in our communication, in our relational coexistence and in the courage to dare to shine as ourselves.
The inspiration for my creation comes from different subcultures such as punk, rock, pop, street, drag, retro, spiritual etc. Subcultures that to my delight today are starting to be styles and expressions that are mixed and are no longer divided into genres. So far, I have worked with jewelry art from my home studio and sell in my own webshop. However, I look forward to continuing my work towards permission and acceptance in the world by exploring the body, the psyche and the different possibilities that these constitute in a symbiosis. I also look forward to continuing to hone my techniques and knowledge to make the world a more sustainable and beautiful place.
